Privacy Policy

Spanish With Bachata is a language-learning website that teaches Spanish through short, educational phrases from bachata songs, played over the songs’ official embedded players. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@spanishwithbachata.com.

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Learning data. Your lesson progress, completed sentences, quiz results, saved phrases, XP, and streak.
• Billing status. If you subscribe or purchase a song, our payment processor (Stripe) handles the payment; we store only your subscription/purchase status — never your full card details.
• Technical data. Standard server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) generated by our hosting provider, and essential cookies used to keep you signed in.

• Create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• Save and sync your progress, streak, and saved phrases across devices.
• Provide access to free and paid content and process any purchases.
• Maintain, protect, and improve the Service and prevent abuse.
• Respond to your requests and communicate about the Service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database (hosted in the EU, Ireland).
• Google — “Sign in with Google” authentication.
• Stripe — payment processing (if you purchase).
• Cloudflare — website hosting, delivery, and security.
• YouTube / Google — songs play via YouTube’s official embedded player; when you play a video, your interaction with it is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

We use only essential cookies required to authenticate you and keep your session active. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The embedded YouTube player may set its own cookies when you play a song.

Your account and learning data are stored with Supabase in the European Union (Ireland). Some providers (e.g. Google, Stripe, Cloudflare) may process data in other countries under appropriate safeguards.

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal or accounting obligations.

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account, email us at hello@spanishwithbachata.com. You may also withdraw consent at any time by signing out and requesting deletion.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
